By looking in several language files I have managed to modify the message put out to the user when they log out etc, however I have found no way of changing the "User has logged in successfully!" text, is this possible, and if so how?

You can change this in ./inc/languages/english/member.lang.php file.

can I ask where? I cannot find the message anywhere

./inc/languages/english/member.lang.php find;

{$lang->redirect_loggedin}

and change it to your needs.
