How do I change the colour of the text that is used to post this message? as the box is white and I have a theme where the text is also white and I want the text to be black.

You can do this with css.
Go to your themes, in your admin cp. and select your theme. Go to advanced mode once on the edit page. and select global.css. find post_content and edit the color code to 000000, tell me if this worked. worked for me.
