I have searched a lot through this site and coudld not figure out a working method/plugin to make the forum Invitation based only.

Also on admin activation ( registration ) there is no email sent to the user. There is no way a user will know if his/her account has been activated.
I did try one of the plugins available here, which did not work either.

Any help on these will re really appreciated.

you will have to signup and post in order to get mybux which you can spend on the plugin.
