but then my site crashed within the new host...

help is needed urgently

Did you edit the database settings in the settings.php and don't forget to fix your cookie settings.

Plus it seems that your file settings are messed up

Please read http://community.mybb.com/showthread.php?tid=15343 for reference.
i did bro....i have done everything as said in tutorial.
i am getting logged in....into my site..but cant access any feature..and everything appears, like crashed.

now again i am uploading the back up into the old server.
You could have corrupted something when you backed up the files.

You state that you are redirected to your old database, could you further explain this please?
i previously use an account in websitehostfree.com
due to forced ads,i now moved my database to byethost.com
yesterday i moved the site and changed all the settings
it worked well till yesterday night.
today morning i tried to acess to the site, the login was not functional, and the redirect is showing forced ads.
this created a problem and i saw the settings.php was changed to the previous state.
i have edited this but still non functional.
i am not a techie,so i thought if i delete the first created database then automatically my new site will be directed, when clicked.
i have deleted all htdocs in my websitehostfree.com
from then my site has crashed, which i am using now in byethost

the url of first site: www.mimspace.websitehostfree.com
the url of byethost new one is : www.mimspace.byethost32.com

Are you using the same database?
You need to backup the SQL files, go to phpMyAdmin and insert them.
If you DID do that, go to your file manager and manually edit your database options on your new host from there.
nope i have changed the database name..coz in that particular hosting, the database name is given such that it corresponds to the specific host.
i mean in byethost the dbname is b32_xxxxxxx
and in wshf it is wshf_xxxxxx

i didnt back up sql files and i dont know how to.......

i can pm u my acp username and password, can u help me sorting this problem.

If you didn't back up your SQL files, there's really not much help you can get.
The SQL files store all of your posts, accounts, etc.
