i have this:

-----subforums(s)

i want ALL of the subforums to display on the index page. i know it could get crowded, but it's fine. once i added my third subforum, it now says "subforum 1, subforum 2, and one other......."

i don't want that. i want to show all subforums. i couldn't find a setting for this. if there isn't a setting that will allow it, any idea what i need to hack?

I've tried raising this to 100 but all the subforums are still not showing...

URL?? Are you sure ./inc/settings.php is CHMOD to 666??

It's working now. I installed MyBB using Softaculous as I always have but this time it didn't seem to CHMOD anything
