hi im just wondering if its possible to put a box to change a custom profile field on the index of the forum

what im wanting to do is a bit like a face book thing, we made a custom profile field for "status" and it shows on the post bit, but i want to make it easy to change from a box on the index page rather then going into user CP to change it all the time

any ideas on the code?
