I have tried multiple times, on severall different web-hosts, in many different ways - but no matter how hard I try, once I have uploaded the upload file, it shows an error message when I go to .../install. It is so annoying. Why is this happening? I have tried:
- Uploading into Public_html
- Uploading into root directory
- Uploading the entire compressed folder
And nothing seems to work!
What is the actual error... ??
Depends on the host. Basically just "page not found"
Then you simply won't be putting things in the right place, the URL you're using won't match where the files are. Printscreen where you've actually put your files, and post your URL.

Is the most recent. I'm pretty sure it's wrong, because it was accidental. Where am I supposed to upload it? Into the root folder? I've just realized I haven't tried that yet.
URL - I'm going to try again, so the url I'm going to use doesn't have it uploaded yet.
You upload it wherever you want it to be. If it's in a folder called mybb_166 then you'd go to yoursite.com/mybb_166/install/, assuming you've uploaded the contents of the Upload folder and not the Upload folder itself.
I tried.
I went to mysite.com/mybb_1600/upload/install
and it didn't work. I won't be using this URL for the real thing (I'm trying to find a good free webhost. I'm checking out 0009.ws at the moment), but here it is:

OK, you've kept everything in the Upload folder, and only the admin folder is there.

In the MyBB download, there's the Upload folder, you need to upload the
contents of this folder, not the folder itself, to where you want it to be.
