Alright so I thought the problem was the cookie path, because it was /socialmanipulation/ and i know it has to be /. I couldnt change it in the acp since the cookies are messed up, so i had to change it in settings.php and in the database. Now that I fixed that part, I dont know what the problem is.

Here are my current settings according to acp:

homepage url: http://socialmanipulation.com
cookie domain: .socialmanipulation.com
cookie path: /
cookie prefix:

I read a bunch of threads and posts online, and they all said that the issue was the cookie path. but now that I fixed the path, and the problem still exists, I do not know what is going on. Please help, and many thanks in advance.

It's still /socialmanipulation/ in settings.php.

Don't change it in the database. Edit it in settings.php, then do it in the ACP. This is all explained in the sticky thread.

I did do that, but for some odd reason it didnt save. Thank you for your time, problem fixed.
