I moved my forum to VPS server. my other site with smf forum is working just fine on same server.
i have configured mysql info etc...
old hosting:

showing some weird language... can't read

moved files with zip folder and unzipped on server. also tried moving again with wget ftp directory. files are fine when downloaded through ftp
please help
The only thing i can say is reinstall and use the same database but i am not sure that would work. I don't think this is the issue but did you set the new domain in the settings.php and config.php as well as cookies , but that probably has nothing to do with it, i would suggest the suggestion i suggested first. Wow lot's of suggestions in that sentence.
If you reinstall and then use the same database you'll be using the exact same data you're using now.
Reupload all your files from a fresh download, delete ./inc/settings.php, and delete ./inc/config.php and rebuild it with this: [wiki]Inc/config.php[/wiki]

He had a different error before, he probably reuploaded and did not install yet.
ok i installed through installer. the old database was overwritten. so i imported old database.
now theme is messed up.
I installed through same url as old

i pointed my domain to new server
ok looks like forum is working. maybe cache etc is expired
