Well, of course I am concerned about server load, but thats a secondary issue (I thought) as the server load was the same levels in both incarnations of the forum. Therefore, to solve the present issue, I think that server load is NOT the total cause.
Of course, I have contacted the host and showed them my page stats (I got the owner to do that) and they have said they will move me to a new server..... meanwhile, the forum continues to snail along. I did try making that change in config,php but it gave me an error.
I have asked the owner to contact the host and request a change to MYSQL.
Do you have any suggestions regarding the images and a preloader script?
