How do I remove the default image verification box that appears when someone registers?

I'm running MyBB 1.6. and installed the recaptcha III plugin, so now I have no use for the default image verification and I do not want to needlessly deter potential members with two image verification tests.

You can disable it in the User and Registration Options (from memory). I thought recaptcha automatically made the switch though...

Perhaps I'm missing it, but I do not see a relevant option in that menu in 1.6.

Whoops, sorry, it's under General Configuration. It's called CAPTCHA Images for Registration & Posting, but are you sure you activated the recaptcha plugin, because I'm pretty sure that it replaces the captcha, and disabling the captcha disables recaptcha as well I think...

Use reCAPTCHA II. It replaces the default CAPTCHA correctly and I like it better.
