How do I upgrade to 1.6.1? I want to know before I acctualy start.

Backup database, upload the changed files package from the blog post announcement so the files overwrite the current versions of the files, go to yoursite.com/install/upgrade.php and choose 1.6.0 from the list of versions.

I tried and all I get is internet explorer can not display webpage

Sorry about removing the (minimal powered...) I have no idea what that is. If I did remove it it was an accident.

Anyway how do I restore the minimal powered...?

That URL works fine for me, you just need to remove the lock file from the install folder to run the upgrader.

The Powered By message has been removed from hobbyplace.co.cc, you'll need to add it back to get support.

Why do I not see 1.6.0 from my list of versions?

I am running 1.6.0, and my upgrade pages displays 'Welcome to the upgrade wizard for MyBB 1.6.0."

Then you've not uploaded the new files properly.

to restore make sure you have

{$lang->powered_by} <a href="http://mybb.com/" target="_blank">MyBB{$mybbversion}</a>, &copy; 2002-{$copy_year} <a href="http://mybb.com/" target="_blank">MyBB Group</a>.<br />

somewhere in your footer template.
