Hi I want to change my forum db password

I'm assuming that I do the following

1. Turn off forum

2. Backup bd

3. Delete user in data base in cPanel

4. Add new user with the same user name but a new password

5. Change password in config file

AND Presto, should be working

Can someone please confirm this is the correct procedure, thanks....

Just go to cPanel/Direct Admin or whatever control panel > 'Databases' > Delete the user and create another one with a different password > update in /inc/config.php to correct credentials.

thanks, actually I went the other way in the end, created a new user, changed config with new user name and password details, then deleted the old user
