It works for me. It's stopped about 5000 sessions so far.

Thanks for getting back to me. After I added the entry to the global.php file, I followed the instructions to set up a password and then do a test which is supposed to produce a "403 Forbidden" page. I could not get anything to happen. I even tried adding the code to other specific PHP pages and still could not get a response out of it. I wonder if my version of PHP is too old? 5.1.6
PHP 5.1.6 should be fine. Have you been through the setup procedure? ie: Opened up http://www.yoursite.tld/zbblock/setup.php in your browser?

I did. Followed it exactly. One thing that was different than what was described in the set up procedure was the name of the ini file. In the set up instructions, it was described as zbblock.ini, but on the server it is sbblock_install.ini. Not sure if that matters but I did take note of it.
zbblock.ini should be in the "vault" folder of the zbblock install folder - well, that's where it is on my install.

Perhaps that is part of the problem. I did read that there should be a vault folder but it did not create one.
It could be that the permissions aren't set correctly on the zbblock folder.

I was just thinking about that. Let me check and I'll reply with my findings.

Got me scratching my head. Full permissions... Ran install again and no vault directory created.

Update - sorry, vault was created. I just refreshed my server view. Hang on...

It created an empty install folder and an empty vault folder. Doesn't seem quite right.
I'm not sure what's going on there. You might need to ask for some help in the ZB Block forum: http://www.spambotsecurity.com/forum/

That was the next thing I was going to do. I see where the setup files populate the directories that are created. Mine do not populate and no error messages are generated. I'll post again once I know what went wrong.
Works well for me. I even mentioned this thread in the ZB Block testimonials
