Ok, bear with me here please


I made my forum on a particular database a few days ago and that database wasn't a fully owned URL, it was the but end of URL provided by a friend.

Eg: http://thisishisurl.com/mysite

I've been tweaking and tampering with the forum and I've got it to such a state now that I want to move it onto another database owned by my brother.

So the new URL will read something like,

Eg: http://mybrotherssite.com/mysite



I also own a domain which I will want pointed to my brothers database, and that domain is currently pointing to another forum of mine which I am scraping because the software is pretty limited and MyBB is a lot better I think.

This has happened so far,

Database downloaded from current folder (friends site)
Folder created in brothers database and database uploaded for safekeeping


Can someone outline the best possible way forward to upload my forum as it is currently... (http://www.basestonepaving.com/seforum/index.php) to the new URL?

Also, on my other forum, members are very active so advice on how best to point my own URL to my brothers database is needed too please.





Sorry if its a bit of a mouthful, and I understand its complicated, but in the end I know its possible, its just I'm a little wary on what steps need to be taken and when.

I'm not fully sure but I'll give it a try. Back up your forum with a SQL file and then go to the new host and install MyBB there then go to myPhpAdmin and Import that SQL file. I believe that is it. I hope I helped
