Unfortunately you'll have to Install that plugin. There is no core option available at the moment.

^ No. if the plugin is working then use it or do required modifications manually (with care)
The plugin Yaldaram said is not working for me. When I try to activate it i get sql error:
1146 - Table 'samcam_forum.mybb_mybb_settinggroups' doesn't exist
Since the plugin was made for v1.2 is it oudated or am I doing something wrong?

^ if the plugin was made for MyBB 1.2 then most probably it will not work for recent versions
of MyBB. but Yaldaram was referring to
some edits available at another post. check that.
I say it was made for 1.2 because it is in the 1.2 archive.
