No, just put the merge system on your existing MyBB and run it. The Merge System saying MyBB 1.4 is a typo, but doesn't matter. You have phpBB, so you would chose that in the merge system.
If you cannot do this yourself there is a company that performs merges for a fee. Sometimes its me doing it since I work for them as well. Sometimes it isn't.
