Hi folks,

I need to create a moderator tool that will allow me to COPY a single post from an existing thread and turn it into a new thread in a different forum without affecting the original post/thread. Can this be done?

Yes, its already a default inline pos moderation tool. Just select the post you want to make a new thread and select "split" in "Inline Post Moderation" tool. (which is available on bottom showthread pages )

Yes, I see that but I am afraid that it will remove the selected post from the original thread. I need to keep the original thread in tact and just copy the split post to a new forum thus creating a new thread.

Right now, all I can do is move/copy the thread to my staff test/holding tank forum and then split the post into the new forum. Then I have to delete the thread I moved into the holding tank...there has to be an easier way!
