is it possible to have reputation enabled but private so only staff and the member in question can see their rep comments?

I had a look around admincp/permissions yet didn't see any such settings

Nope. You'd need a plugin.

Seems like a reasonable request to me.

You would need a plugin though and I don't think one exists - moved to requests.

For a friend of mine who recently moved from vbulletin, on vbulletin its that way.

You you just want to block certain usergroups viewing reputation ?

most likely member groups from viewing others reputations yep

I have a plugin that blocks users viewing/giving rep until they have an X post count (Its paid): http://www.mybbextras.com/showthread.php?tid=388

Theres no problem adding this or creating it as a seperate plugin if needed.

what i really need is the ability for them to view say the rep total (points etc) but not the rep messages/ itself.

example

others members can see member A has a rep of 15, yet they can't see who gave the rep,what the "rep givers" said in notes, and for what post etc it was given.

this would be a very handy feature for forums who have converted from vb to mybb.
