Is there a way to remove

Or a way to choose to remove the edit comment per post edit?

You can disable it globally on your forum by going to AdminCP > Configuration > Settings > Posting and then disable the "Show 'edited by' Messages" and "Show 'edited by' Message for Forum Staff" options.
