Hello guys,

I have a problem with my forum being extremely slow to post for members but eventually the post does go through. The front page loads, login works, etc. It's quite a frustrating problem.

I have optimised the database and that still hasn't increased the speed.

I'm using mybb 1.6.1.

Any help would be appreciated.

Try disabling all of your plugins and see if that improves anything.

I did that and it worked!

It was Akismet.

There may have been a problem with the Akismet server which meant the request to check the message took a long time.
