Zahar i was trying to use your side box earlier. I liked it alot but i noticed a few problems.

One is there any way i can make it a little smaller width wise?

Also, i have alot of "latest" threads so it fills up the whole table. is there any way to cap it to like 3-4 latest threads?

Indeed you can.

You will find in the index template this code

<td width="75%" valign="top">$forums </td>
<td width="25%" valign="top">$search<br>

modify the width the way you want.

This uses the same setting of the portal page. So in Admin CP > Board Settings > Change > Portal Page
