Okay, so I know that the idea of differently colored posts exist (as seen in the pinkish-red for unapproved threads), so the thought occurred to me: Is it possible to set up differently colored backgrounds for posts based on usergroup? If so, how?

A plugin to assign a theme per group would work. From Memory i don't think you can do that.
