I'm setting up a private forum and we'd like some notifications by e-mail.

Is there a way to set e-mail notification to "on" by default for every user that registers?

Does anybody know a mod that sends out an automated newsletter?

I guess there's no way to send a newsletter to the members containing the 10 most popular topics (including links to them) every month?

It is possible using a cronjob. But there's no script available atm for this purpose.
