You haven't replaced the files correctly.

so i have done the upgrade 2 times, what do i have to do to replace them correctly?

You are in fact downloading and uploading the 1.6 package, right? If all you do is just run the upgrader, it isn't going to work.

You've not uploaded the new versions of any of the root files...

Ok i have downloaded the file, upnzipped, and fully uploaded all the upload via filezilla to my mybb folder in the server...what else? or what am i missing?

You're just not uploading the root files properly, they're not overwriting the old ones. If you can't upload them, PM me FTP login details and I'll upload them for you...

I sent you one back saying all I get is an empty directory when I use the details you sent me...

OK, there was something weird going on with your file system, uploading new files wouldn't actually update them, I had to delete the files and upload them fresh. Should be all sorted now though.
