My Gaming site was on a VPS, but they have changed my IP address.
I am to tell you that I get 100+ registrations per day, my site has been down fore more than 2 days, now.
I am fed up and going to report to paypal, but before that I need a backup of my site.
I can access my site and the admin panel in such a way.
http://46.243.8.23/~myusername/forum

But whenever I go to the admin control panel, it logs me out and I am unable to take any backup.
Can anyone please tell me what do I need to edit in my inc/settings.php file.
Please, I need fast help.

Sounds like you need to edit your cookie settings.

well its logging you out coz you are not using the domain name (or ip) that you specified as your main domain or forum domain during installation



to fix this open inc/settings.php
Then change the domain name to the one your using now

http://46.243.8.23/~myusername/forum

that should work

You'll also need to change the cookie settings in settings.php

The cookie domain should be: .46.243.8.23
You can also set a cookie path to /~myusername/forum/ or just leave it blank it should work.

Still not working, can anyone give me a solid reply.

Do you still have access to your cPanel and phpMyAdmin?if so why not make a backup from their?

I can access the cpanel, but their license is not activated and em getting frustated now.
