I have downloaded the latest version of MyBB, copied the files to m server, amended the COMOD, but then when launchingin the website and adding install to my url the following error message appears on the page:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /content/StartupHostPlus/n/o/north-moreton.com/web/forum/inc/class_core.php on line 18


any ideas?

MyBB requires PHP 5.

5.1 to be exact. Your host seems to still only provide PHP 4, which is old, PHP 5 should be standard on hosts now.
