So the thing is I pruned users today by mistake and somehow was able to get the backup restored lying with hostgator. Now something strange has happened.

After back up ... on my forum home page

I am not able to see most of the forums!

The structure was like this

Category A
Forum1
Forum2
Forum3
Forum4

Category B
Forum1
Forum2

Now on the home page, I can only see

Category A
Category B
Forum2

that's it.

Any way I can resolve this issue?
First off, you already have a thread - so why did you have to make another? :/

Secondly, can we have a link to your forum?
Since the question was now different I created a new thread. Apologies if that is not allowed here. (This has kind of taken on my nerves.)

My forum is here http://www.learnqtp.com/forums/
Try rebuilding caches in the admin cp tools. If that doesn't help, double check permissions in the admin cp forums page.
@frostschutz: I tried rebuilding cache. Before rebuiliding the cache I was able to see my forums inside Admin CP, now I am not able to see them even there Sad
Then they're gone. It's probably because the backup is an older version. I'm not quite sure though..
Backup was of 7/Feb and it was the same version.

I last upgraded my forum version back in December'10.
Look in the mybb_forums table in phpMyAdmin, are the forums you're expecting to see in there??
No, they are not even there!!

May be I can ask them to redo the restore for me? By any chance, is there any set procedure to follow while restoring?
