Where do I change the little icons beside the forums?

The icons were in the files you uploaded to cpanel.. To edit them you will just have to edit them on what ever software then re upload them.
Replace off.gif, offlock.gif, and on.gif (in your theme's respected image directory), with your own.
Is there any way to customize them for different forums?
Well you could copy and paste or just re-upload the item. As long as its your forum if that makes sense.
