i followed the wiki installation guide and
i found there is no config.php but instead i found config.default.php, shouldi rename it to config.php?

Yes rename it.
You will also have to chmod it to 777 to make it writeable by the server if its not already writeable, you'll be notified by the installation script if thats the case.
