What other email domains are you banning? I tend not to mind hotmaail, gmail, etc because I know so many people who use these as legitimate addresses.
I ban this place's domains: http://10minutemail.com (They come out with a new one every month or so)
Think I might just block these now!
I never ban a domain email unless I know its complete crap. 10 minute mail and other relative services annoy me.
I had this issue,too.
I banned this domain today.

They create an account and put their link in signature.
I do not block temporary mail domains because I use them too. They are not 'evil'. Example: In a big board I'm using a temporary email (10minutemail) but I'm also an active user!

I only ban domains if they are used for automatic registrations by spam bots. At the moment just these 2 domains:

yahoo.co.uk
fsq1.com
Hi,

there is a second category of annoying email addresses: disposable / temporary / one-time addresses.

That's why I was looking for a service to detect this growing numbers of domains but didn't find one. So I started a new project.

It is up and running for a while and detects nearly 1.500 of those domains. Have a look at http://www.block-disposable-email.com. Maybe someone could integrate it to MyBB?

Best regards,
Itzekocke
The best way to stop bots registering and spamming your board is to install a custom security question on registration page.
I personally use this plugin http://mods.mybb.com/view/registration-s...y-question which works like a charm Big Grin

But there are more and more humans used for cracking captcha and other methods. As they mostly use popular provides email bans don't help, too.
