i have uploaded the files to my upload directory and i cant find 1.6.1 in the list when i go to www.********.com/install/upgrade.php, can anyone tell me what im doing wrong

You don't have to run the upgrade script for 1.6.2. All you have to do is replace the files.

ok well how do i get the lock folder back into the install directory?

Make a file with .txt extension and call it "lock" without quotes.

ok i know this maybe noobish but explain to me how to do that exactly, so i dont mess this up pls and thx ahead of time.

Extract the following and upload lock file to ./install/ folder.
