I've looked, but I cannot seem to find where the {$forums} template is.

Can someone point out where it is and/or how it is defined?

I know that other template tags are included in it, but how do I know which ones unless I can see the code for it?

Is this in the index template or..? You'd have to search through the corresponding PHP file (index.php for example) to determine which templates are called for what.

The templates for the index forums are in Forum Bit Templates.

Yes, all the Forum Bit Templates make this {$forums}
