why does the word filter not work for you? you can change any text, including all instances of a URL. I use it to change links to a couple particular sites to a non-link
You may use Word Filter. Go to: ACP > Configurations > Word Filters > and enter the "Word" which should be replaced to "Replacement".
How ever, if you want to edit/replace any other word manually/through admincp then Request a plugin.
I have tried using the word filter from acp it filters out the instances of word but proves uneffective with links . And I think op is looking for just that . Any help.
Suppose I replaced "apple" with "mango" so whenever in forum when someone posts links containing apple it should get replaced by mango like i post link
www.appleforum.com/index.html so it should be changed to
www.mangoforum.com/html but it doesn't happen.
That's because links are not "parsed" using the "word filters".
Then how can I parse the links ? I've seen it at hackforums the survey links get replaced.
it works for me on 1.6.2 and had been working 1.4.x, and it does not matter if the URL is plain text, wrapped in [ url= ] or regular [ url ] MyCode
It is still turned into a link, but the link is not valid.
If I put
http://www.example.com in the filter with Vendor Not Allowed as the replacement then I get
http://www.Vendor Not Allowed.com
I am saying that the word filter built-into MyBB works on URLs, regardless of how they are formatted in the post.
