Full Version: More Signature Rules
You're currently viewing a stripped down version of our content. View the full version with proper formatting.
Take a look at the vBulletin rules:

Allow Basic BB Code
Allow Color BB Code
Allow Size BB Code
Allow Font BB Code
Allow Alignment BB Code
Allow List BB Code
Allow Link BB Code
Allow HTML
Allow Image BB Code
Allow Code BB Code
Allow PHP BB Code
Allow HTML BB Code
Allow Quote BB Code
Allow Smilies
Can Upload Images for Signature
Can Upload Animated GIF for Signature

Lots of rules right?

Well, no one has made a plugin to properly limit signatures.

I have 2 separate plugin suggestions. 1 I think is quick and easy, but another will take a bit longer.

Suggestion 1.

First one, is all links to external sites in all threads, posts and signatures and such, should be redirected. So if I posted a spam link here for example:
http://www.dfgjkerh.com/
And the forum its posted on url is:
http://www.mybb.com/

So what it should be is like:
http://www.mybb.com/redirect/dfgjkerh.com
or something. This way, people cannot spam our forums for SEO benefits.

Suggestion 2.

Ok, this can be based on usergroups. In Admin CP, under the tab "User & Groups", you can choose a user group, then go the tab "Users and Permissions". Now their are check boxes:
"Can use links in signatures?"
"Can use images in signatures?"

Now people have to be a certain usergroup to do this.

Thoughts on both ideas?
If any of you've already made this, please just link me to the thread you've posted it in on your forum, so I can buy a subscription or register and get it. Thanks.
I haven't received any links to where this can be obtained. Is anyone making it?
That is private messaging and not signature rules.

I think he wanted to be able to set more advanced signature permissions on a group by group basis, not just be allow groups to see them.

Correct. I want something that I can manage permission on group basis.
ACP > Configurations > User Profile and Registration Options > These are general rules which applies to all usergroups. If you like to extend this plugin I would prefer to use per "user" basis.

All I want is a list of user groups to be able to use mycode, while the rest can't so I can choose Admins, mods and VIP members. Please, someone.
