Lots of bug and security patches. The theme shouldn't be affected much, but you might need to make a few changes.

You'll need to deactivate plugins, most of them will just need the compatibility in the file changed from 14* to 16* to get them working again. Your themes will fundamentally be fine, there just may be some manual template edits and CSS additions you'll need to make to make sure the new 1.6 features work. Make sure you have a file and database backup though and you'll be fine.
