Which template should I edit to put Google Adsense ads in the first post of a thread?
ACP > Templates > Postbit Templates > postbit > find {$post['message']} and add the ads code just after that.
Remember, it will show ads in ALL posts. If you need to add ads in only first post, you'll need a plugin.
