This would be great as a core feature imo. More and more websites are going in this direction, and remembering my e-mail address is much easier than remembering all my usernames across multiple sites.
Yes I figured it would require rebuilding the log-in box or something. I guess I will post this in the suggestion section for further development. It would be a nice feature since it would discourage bots of any sort and you are right Uncontrol it is easier by far for the user.
