Is there any easy way to hide forums from displaying on the Index (forum listings) page? I want the forum to accessible to everyone (if they have the link), however I don't want it to display on the index page.

It looks like this plugin was made for 1.2, and is not currently compatible. When I try to activate the plugin, I get a lot of table does not exist errors.
Does anyone know of any updated plugins that can achieve what I am looking for?

I just tested something which works for MyBB1.6 and seems to do exactly what you asked for.

*(note that these settings do not cascade down into child forums)
It's really flexible and powerful:
- ie. If you only hide the top-level category, then you can still list (see) all the sub-forums when you access the category URL; They are (it is) only hidden on the index.
