Hello,
Is there a way to set it so that when I assign Moderator Groups to a parent forum, those moderator groups also extend to all child forums of that parent forum, instead of having to go into each child forum and setting up moderation groups separately?

Not without a plugin, this should be move to Requests forums.

I found an interesting thing:
A one member of Moderators group must have assigned one forum to moderate.
Then just set up another forum for a group Moderators, and this setting is inherited to the other child forums.
