I was wondering if Mybb has a plugin or something that allows users to add friends on the forum. I check user CP but can't seem to find anything related to that.
2nd question is...
I read that legacy google seo plugin thread... but I have no idea what they are talking about with editing code... editing htacess and blah blah... I am new and I can install easy general plugins... but something like this seems very hard (I hear it takes 30 min+ to install?). Is there a step by step for complete newbie like me to be able to install google seo on the forum?
Go to: UserCP > Buddy/Ignore List > and add friend's usernames in Add Users to your Buddy List option field.
MyBB offers a "Buddy List" that allows you to add friends. You can view it from the UserCP:

Also, you can click on "Open Buddy List" on the header of any page to launch a small window that displays if any of your friends are online.

Installation instructions come with the plugin, if you follow that you can't go wrong.

I got to copy all files via FZ but now I'm getting confused here from step 4.
I've already installed the forum a while back... so where is forum installation directory? and where can I download file called ".htaccess?"
4. Proceed to forum installation directory and download file called “.htaccess” (backup), we do it in case you want to uninstall plugin or something goes wrong.
5. Go back into the Google SEO folder, edit htaccess.txt.example file as in the example image below:
In case you can’t see image here is how-to:
- Replace all “/mybb/” with your MyBB forum directory path. (Leave ‘/’ if your forum is in the main directory -> no sub directories ; if your forum is f.ex. in /forum/ directory replace ‘mybb’ with ‘/forum/’)
- Replace all hyphens after significant words with backslash like “Thread-” to “Thread\-”.
List of significant words: sitemap, forum, thread, announcement, user, calendar, event.
- Replace “http://yoursite/” with your site domain, f.ex. “http://wbgc.ajdija.com/”.
