Templates aren't files, templates are templates and they're stored in the database.

Youre right, Im confused, the L-curve is going vertical Smile

When 'Yaldaram' writes...

"Board Name is actually a setting found in ACP > Configurations > general Configurations >.
If you want to Change it and Use any other (along with the Board Name) the you'll need to edit several Templates."

...am thinking the question is, how to get to the 'several Templates' to do the editing, and how to figure out where specific templates/database are for editing (fonts, etc) specific text ?

Where is a good place to get some 'tutorial' information on all this forum stuff (templates, etc)... maybe w3schools.com ?

Thank you for the tutorial info !
Will start taking a closer look in next few days.
Now, if I can just find those templates to edit the 'Board Name' font Undecided
Thanks again !
Board name font? Can you provide a screenshot of what you're talking about?

When to CP 'Configuration/Board Setting/General Configuration/Board Name, can type in text box under the directions... "The name of your message boards. We recommend that it is not over 75 characters."

That text shows up at the top of the main page just under the "Hello There, Guest" row.

Would like to edit its appearance (font).

Screenshot attached... subject text starts out "Main Page: click on the forums..."

Thanks again for the patience !

That's the breadcrumb/navigation.

You're looking for the Navigation Templates, or .navigation in global.css

Thanks for the followup AJS !

All we have at CP in Global Templates/Template Set/ is akismet_postbit_spam.

Couldnt find anything (like subject text) in Default Templates/Template Set/ Navigation Templates.

http://wiki.mybb.com/index.php/Admin_CP_...ate_Groups mentions 'breadcrumb'...
"Navigation Templates
The navigation bar telling you where in the forum you are (for instance, "Your Forums / User Control Panel"). This is also the breadcrumb."
...but no idea what they (or u Undecided ) are talking about !

What is the confused beginner missing ?

Ps: Where is the forum 'database' ?

Just checking... looks like no feedback.
Could repost a specific question, but thinking that 'finding' the text, to 'change the font', is a big part of the question... ie 'how' implies 'where' in this case ?
Thoughts ?

More searching... bingo, found the .navigation class(?) on globa.css file, and it changed the subject font.
Question in mind still seems, how to figure out where to find forum text in forum display fields (what file/s is the text in?), and then can edit, and assume it will be connected with formatting by a class in 'global.css', or add 'custom' formatting on the spot ?
Hope am close on the terminology !

Seems like getting close... maybe ?

'Board name' text in database shows associated with 'bbname'.

Tried changing at forum cp, Template Sets > Default Templates > index
from

<title>{$mybb->settings['bbname']}</title>

to

<title>test</title>

but didnt show up on browser forum main page.

One online suggestion was to clear the 'browser cache', so used 'Disk cleanup', but no sure how else that should be done, or if it would even help, if dont have the right template file edited.

Is question how to change database 'text' in template files ?

Suggestions ?

Still trying to figure it out.

Am (thanks to previous help) able to format such as forum category titles etc at ACP > Forums & Posts by adding html/css directly in the text boxes.

But, when it comes to, am assuming, template type text, like for 'last post' title (looking a 'source view' of the forum mainpage)...

<span class="smalltext">
<a href="showthread.php?tid=3&amp;action=lastpost" title="A name of a post"><strong>A name of a post</strong></a>
<br />05-19-2011 07:55 AM<br />by <a href="http://akmblog.org/forum/member.php?action=profile&amp;uid=4">jrmhome</a></span>

How to find such as what template sets up the font for the 'name of the post' text, so (for example) may enlarge it to make easier to read ?

Hopefully have been working at this long enough for the above followup question to help clarify the thread question.

Thanks again for your help.
