Hi folks

i've got an issue on my current Mybb forum

currently i'm not receiving any emails

I've checked the mail logs and there are no errors shown at all.

i.e i'm subscribed to threads (gmail account) and not receiving notification of replies

i've also created a hotmail account to do more testing and again i'm not receiving any notification.


originally the site was using phpmail (not working) I've switched to gmail apps and again still nothing

anyone got any idea why this is happening :-(

the test goes through fine

but no emails are sent via mybb

using phpmail and gmail

there is also nothing in the log

just to test i put an invalid username and password in the smtp setup

this created a log of invalid details as expected

but once i changed it back - i'm still not receiving anything

i've checked junk and spam folders

Go to: ACP > Tools and Maintenance > Task Manager > and Click on the Clock right side to the Mass Mail option.

Who is your host?

What email address do you have set for Admin Email and Return Email in Admincp >. Configuration >> General Settings

and the return email is blank

I sent out a newsletter via mybb to 100 users

and for some reason the gmail system marked the account as spam??

strange as hell

i did the re-log in and it seems to have cleared that

I will go ahead and test the email system again - should be okay (now though)

Yes gmail will flag you if you continually send mass emails through their systems.

Not sure what caused it but looks like its all good now -

i sent out an email to less than 50 people but it got blocked

i've removed the block and all is good in the world
