Hi,

I have a site www.bigbrotherafrica6.com.

It has two forums with mybb 1.6.2 on the site.

http://www.bigbrotherafrica6.com/forums , it has 27,576 Posts and 7,539 Registered Users .
http://www.bigbrotherafrica6.com/forum , it has 242,455 Posts and 48,112 Registered Users

And 7,539 users in http://www.bigbrotherafrica6.com/forums already exist in http://www.bigbrotherafrica6.com/forum with same user name and password. That means for two forums, there are total 48,112 Registered Users.

I want to merge them to one forum. Which software can I use to merge them?

Somebody from your support team told me that ( http://community.mybb.com/thread-92055-newpost.html )

While I am pretty sure you could use the current merge system to merge the 2 forums while only selecting to run the posts/threads/polls modules, I would still recommend you post your question in the merge system forum to make sure you can do that.

Please advise.

Thank you.

If you run the entire merge system the following will happen:
  • For duplicate users using the same username and email, they will be merged together and appear as a single user. It doesn't care about the passwords, it uses the password from the destination forum.
  • For duplicate users using the same username and a different email, a new user will be created with a special addition to the username. If you see any of these, you will need to manually merge them in the ACP.
  • You may have to do some manual re-arranging of usergroups.

If you have any issues or anymore questions please ask.
