Hello, on my site i disable guests from viewing the forums. Is there anyway i can allow just the rules forum to be viewed? (only the rules thread is in their)

I already went to the forum permissions and set the guests permission to view but it wont let the guests view it. Maybe because i put a lock on guests viewing the category?

Well anyway is there any like way i can make a like page, (like next to the member list, and home, calender etc.) links called rules that if they press it it will direct it to them
Most people put their rules in stickies or announcements, but I personally put them in a help article. You could also use this I guess: http://mods.mybb.com/view/page-manager
You can set forum rules in FORUM itself,it would be better than in thread, like as of MyBB.

To do so,goto:

Forums and Posts > Edit Forum > Forum RULES:

Write rules there and it would be displayed there regardless of guests can't view forum.

thanks. I already have the page manager but i cant make the page because its sort of confusing. it asks for some things i dont even understand

What exactly do you don't understand? I personally find Page Manager to be a very simple plugin.

i dont get what the uri parameter is and do i have to use html to type the stuff?

cause all i did was copy and paste the stuff from the thread onto the big text box.
The URI parameter would be the bold part:
Quote:http://www.debationnation.com/misc.php?page=banlist
Think of it is a "page identifier".

And you can use HTML or MyCode.

URI parameter - 'This parameter will be used to point to your page. It is recommended to use alphanumeric characters only.'
