Yesterday I took my forum live, and posted the link from my website. This morning I check and I've already gotten spammed. You can view here:

What are the workarounds to this? Each time this happens, will I have to manually delete the user and remove all his posts? I know there is a captcha during registration but I guess thats not enough to stop this. What can I do?
There are a few plugins that can help:

http://mods.mybb.com/view/fassim-anitspam

You're never going to stop all spammers though, so I suggest also installing Goodbye Spammer to aid a quick cleanup.
ok thanks. I wonder if it has to do with posting the link to my forums on this help board Smile
i have implemented the fassim anti spam, as well as the registration security questions.

however, i've also allowed guest posting on my forum, where registration is not required.

today, i've started to get some new spam from users who dont have to register. i know that mybb has the default captcha for guest posters. is there anything else i can do to help prevent guest post spam?
Maybe if you use this captcha plugin:

Replaces the MyBB's one (don't know if the captcha that appear in the guests post)

Never been a fan of guest posting. I would disable it.

recaptcha II doesn't work for guest posting, only for registration signups, at least according to the reviews

similarly, the front page of that mod says that its for registration, and for other users i'd have to modify files or something.. but ill look into it
^It works for guest posting if you edit the necessary files Wink

I will reccomend Patches plugin for editing files:

Simple Captcha already include a import file that works with Patches Smile
ok cool thanks, ill see what files i need to change.

i found some more tips here:

currently, it looks like that blog is removed, but if you search google for that url, you can look at google's cached page
