After unchecking this option because I don't want guess to see.

Each time when guess try to visit the website or reload the website.. the website like goes offline like there is no such existing website..
but when you are logged in.. it doesn't do that..

Help me.

You must have to Tick that option otherwise guests will not be able to view board until they login.

I don't want guess to be able to read the threads or topics.
I just want them to see an error saying that they need to be registered.

But it's just that after unticking that.. it just make the website doesn't work.

Go to: ACP > Users and Groups > Groups > Select Guests Group > Edit [Options] > Click on Forums and Posts tab > and Untick the following option;
- Can view threads?
