I am building a new forum behind my current one on the same server. The problem is that I am not able to connect to the mybb server with this address:
http://www.........(myforumname).com/forum
I get this error:

The following errors were encountered:

There was a problem communicating with the version server. Please try again in a few minutes.

I am unable to use the admin as I would like, so should I wait until I close the other forum down before beginning another?

I think its your host which is not allowing to read external pages. So its a host issue.
No ... I talked to him and there is nothing wrong. I have live links on my current forum ( which I will close when I build this one with the goal being in August this year.) I will bring this up now on MSN with the suggestion you made though. Thank you.

Update::: Still unable to connect. Sad
Try reuploading the files (new installation).
There's not much we can do about this, something on your host means it can't connect. Are you sure cURL or fsockopen are enabled??
I am logged into the cpanel now to check Matt. Also I have a tech letter to the server admin. to aid me with this since everyone seems to think it is a server situation. Hmmm well if I cannot get it to work I guess I will come back to the US again. LOL...
