Hey, how do I get those sexy announcement banners (yellow, green, and blue) that go across the top of the forum index page?
I could really use that feature?

You might need to change the compatibility.
Personally, I prefer that (plugin), as you can change the message (or add another one) more quickly than what Yaldaram posted, but it's personal choice.

Did you read when the plugin Last Updated ?

I heard some one posted the bug reports somewhere about that plugin.
Last time I used it, I had no problems with it, but now that I think of it, it may have been on 1.4... Oh well, if there was bug reports for it, then do what Yaldaram said, as that's better than having bugs.

Yes it an alternative solution but unfortunately it needs to edit the plugin file to edit its style property... I've a plan to Upgeade this plugin to add CSS styling right from the ACP settings page.
Yes, it would be good for new guys coming to MyBB, I just created a CSS class as on wiki for my forum.
