So I have a Gmail account, which has had "unusual activity" recently. They say I have to verify my account through SMS or a voice phone call, but I have access to neither. I tried both having them send an email to my other email that I activated the account with and doing my account recovery question, but when I try either, it says that the account was deactivated. So what can I do?
That's odd - it should let you re-activate it via your verification email. Try sending them an email to the contact us link.
Yeah, google is dumb that way...

Switch to a better provider.

What better provider?
Seriously. Google is one of the best.
Just borrow a phone. Come on.

This.
I have no problems with Google. Even with the SMS/Phone Verification.
I would suggest buffing you're email security by using the 2 step verification process.
